Celebrity Cruises Aqua Class Benefits Guide

aqua class celebrity cruise

You may have heard about things like a Chef’s Table for a special dinner on some cruise ships. For example, river cruises usually have a “Captain’s Dinner” evening, and barge cruises do too. Princess Cruises has a version of this on steroids with its Chef’s Table experience. You do not have to dine at these restaurants if you're in AquaClass or The Retreat; it's simply only an option if you are a part of these Celebrity Cruises suite classes.

Here’s What You Get With Aqua Class on Celebrity Cruises

First let’s go into the perks and benefits when you book Aqua Class. For anyone who just wants the fast answer to “Is Aqua class worth the price? Enjoy complimentary beverages, gourmet bites, and a stylish place to unwind in style, along with the services of The Retreat Concierge. It's easy to stay connected at all times with complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi. I’ve enjoyed my meals there more than in Murano or Tuscan Grille.

Is AquaClass Worth It?

Celebrity Concierge Class balcony cabins are often located in more desirable locations on the ship (upper decks, often midship) compared to Celebrity's standard balcony rooms. Blu is wonderful....but the food and service in Murano is waaay better. We  don't think the other specialty restaurants aboard are worth the cost. That being said given your cost differential, we'd opt for the 5 night dining plan and skip Blu. The key to your decision is how often you plan to use the thermal suite.

Pre-Cruise Concierge

While we did not make use of many of the in-room perks, we did visit the SEA thermal suite. We particularly enjoy the salt room, infrared sauna, and forward-facing heated loungers. Aqua Sky Suite guests enjoy complimentary access to the SEA Thermal Suite, which has eight distinct spaces that all incorporate different elements of the SEA experience. Our cruising dollars spent reflect what makes our cruise enjoyable for us, not what will or won't add up to the exact to-the-penny cost.

Benefits of Staying in AquaClass Staterooms

For example, we really like small, exclusive experiences. Small experiences and venues (dining and pool areas included) make a huge ship feels cozier to us. Only The Retreat guests can take advantage of a pre-cruise concierge service to assist with booking onboard experiences, activities, and port excursions before they board.

Specialty dining is fine, and fun if you have OBC to use up. I also like Blu and with Aqua you get that added as a choice (and also for breakfast). Last cruise, we only did Concierge and it was a great time. But on the Beyond, which is our next, we really like the Persian Garden setup on that style of ship, so we went with Aqua. I have encountered a lot of people who used Move Up for Aqua class and they were disappointed with the location of their stateroom. But if you are a thermal-spa-type person it's probably the way to go.

AquaClass and Concierge classes do not have a space like this with premium beverages and it's not automatically added to the class type reservation. Celebrity Cruises offers Concierge Class staterooms on its ships, which is one step above Veranda staterooms, which are the entry-level balcony cabins. There is no appreciable difference in cabin or balcony sizes. To help you decide if Aqua class is worth the extra money I made a detailed list of all the benefits you get from booking that class of stateroom. Including what makes it different from all the other classes, a comparison against Veranda and Concierge class, and why you want want Aqua over both of those. You don’t just get to feel like a VIP when you get on the ship for the first time either – as you also get priority debarkation at the end of your cruise as well.

Whether it’s the right choice for you depends on your personal preferences and what you’re looking to get out of your cruise vacation. Whatever you decide, the beauty of cruising is that there’s a perfect experience for everyone, and the joy of the journey is finding the one that speaks to your heart. Comparing Aqua Class with Concierge Class and the Retreat, each offers its unique set of benefits and experiences. The priority embarkation and debarkation add a layer of convenience and exclusivity, ensuring your journey is smooth from start to finish.

These two-room suites feature a large living area with floor to ceiling panoramic windows. Don't select a cabin under the pool , the OVC ( Buffet) , the theatre or beside a cabin with a pineapple decal hanging upside down. I can eat in buffets at home and will drive 45 minutes to eat at one at home. Please note—In Aqua the tables ( for 2 ) are very close to each other, the food and service are excellent, really nothing to complain about.

The lounge is open 24/7; service times vary, but we generally found someone from the crew/concierge team there from early morning to late at night. The Retreat Lounge offers guests some lite bites if you want to have yourself a little cocktail hour and collect a cheese plate and some charcuterie before dinner. They host afternoon tea some days, complete with scones and pastries. The lounge is open all day for beverages, from coffee drinks to tea and cocktails. They also have self-serve mini-fridges where you can grab a drink like sparkling or still water. The Retreat Lounge is a beautiful area to have continental breakfast if you want another option aside from the ships’ many restaurants and dedicated Luminae restaurant.

I think the chairs on the balcony are somehow different in Aqua Class? (Could be wrong on this!) All I could really notice is they had a head/neck pillow on them. There may be an additional difference on different class of ship, but on the Millennium this is all we noticed. We didn’t have breakfast outside of the room ONCE on the entire 14 day trip. Even though we knew breakfast was fabulous in Blu, the Aqua room service menu was really perfect for what we wanted in the morning. If it’s usually just my husband and I travelling, I don’t mind waiting in a few lines, but having priority boarding with my parents was a god-send.

AquaClass is good for guests who want wellness to be one focus of their vacation. The in-room workout gear, special spa passes, and overall attention to health in AquaClass is certainly a special offering from Celebrity Cruises. ” you first need to lay out your cruise priorities, then review this post again to see if your priorities align with the offerings in one of the upgraded classes. Perhaps it’s hyperbole, but you can find hundreds of combinations of packages and rates for cruises. You may look up cruise rates today and then look next month and find different options. The Retreat guests can sit in a special, premium reserved area of the theater during performances on Evening Chic nights.

I shuddered at the thought of being stuck at sea with thousands of mostly retired strangers and nothing to do but eat, drink and watch cheesy entertainment before making too-brief stops in too many ports. I cringed at the idea of dressing up to dine at an assigned seat in a vast room rimmed with overflowing food stations. Cruise ship travel seemed not only incredibly superficial and spectacularly inefficient, but also highly likely to wreak havoc with my mental state and blood sugar level. Concierge Class is considered to be one step below AquaClass. They share many of the same perks, but AquaClass is tailored more to people who enjoy the spa.

The closet itself, located on the side of the bed, includes a clothes bar with plenty of hangers. There is also the safe and additional drawers for storage. Here, you’ll also find the robes, umbrella, and yoga mats. This bathroom certainly gave us more room than the often cramped cruise ship bathrooms, making it feel more like a resort than a cruise ship. Discover what it's really like in a Celebrity AquaClass stateroom on Celebrity Beyond with our exclusive cabin review. I think if the cost for Aqua is at par or even up to $800-ish more to Veranda or Concierge, I would always choose to book it.

The Celebrity Aquaclass is a special category of staterooms on select Celebrity Cruises’ ships. These staterooms allow guests to enjoy onboard upgrades, unique dining experiences, as well as several health and wellness-focused amenities. Although, the room dimensions and furnishings are not different than the typical infinite veranda staterooms. Introducing our Aqua Sky Suites, which combine our wellbeing inspired AquaClass experience with exclusive spaces, services, and amenities of The Retreat® to leave you more renewed than ever. These suites feature a king-sized bed with exclusive eXhale® bedding and a spacious, private veranda. Wellness is so fundamental to our philosophy, we offer an entire guest experience around it with our AquaClass® staterooms and now, we’ve added suites to this category.
